This is necessary to transmute the personal aesthetic culture. The Witch so engaged is old, grotesque, worldly and libidinously learned and is sexually attractive as a corpse yet she becomes the entire vehicle of consummation. There is not only erotic satisfaction the sensualist is made detached and controlled until final sublimation his whole training is submissive and obedient until, by cold amoral passion, he can transmute control and divert him- or herself where desired. Sex is used as the technique and medium of a magical act.
The Sabbath is an inverse-reversion for self-seduction, an undoing for a divertive conation. The latter are invariably prophets or propagators of sterility, whereas the one outward tenet of Witchcraft is silence to “unlike others”. Where two or more of a kind of equal maturity and inclination enact for consummation, then, if harm they do it is only to themselves–which I doubt–and far less harmful than the practices of those who mutilate or deny their bodies in the name of a culture or a religion. Saturnalia is definitely made from "whole cloth." It is very imaginative.very clever.very creative.and very well done.(electronically typed and edited by PC93)īCM Fulgur, London, WC1N 3XX United Kingdom.įrom the book “ ZOS SPEAKS: Encounters With Austin Osman Spare” by Kenneth and Steffi Grant.įirst Formula: Of the White Sabbath–as first told me by a WitchĪctually there is neither a Black nor a White Sabbath: the ethical criterion of all acts is whether they are anti-social or so motivated. It is, at least for me, a difficult film to describe, because I can't compare it to any other film. The film turned out to be a delightfully engaging fantasy. The story just seemed so.bizarre.so "out there".I just wasn't sure if I was going to care for this one. Prior to viewing the film, I had read about the film's plot.and I must confess.I had some doubts. Now that I've admitted to my lack of impartiality, I can express my opinion of Joshua Kennedy's most recent release, Saturnalia (2022). I have always left his films with a smile on my face, and with the knowledge that the time it took to view the film was time well spent. Among the elements that are indicative of every Joshua Kennedy movie, is that they are unpretentious, entertaining, and, well, they're just plain fun to watch. My wife and I are now big fans of his work, and we are proud to have all of his released films in our DVD/Blu-Ray collection. I then viewed The Alpha Omega Man (2017) and Airline '79 (2015). I recognized Joshua Kennedy as a talented filmmaker, whose work I wanted to see. The acting, the editing, the sound, the writing.made for a most delightful viewing experience. The cinematography alone blew me away.but the film offered much, much more. This homage to the Hammer films was a superior product in every way. None of them touched the caliber of Dracula A. To be completely honest, I even acted in one.
I have seen many independent films of this nature. The first of his films I viewed was Dracula A. I first came upon the films of Joshua Kennedy via YouTube. To compare the two, would be a disservice to the films, to the filmmaker, and to the viewers themselves. They are economically produced independent films.
They are not big budgeted Hollywood productions. When examining the films of Joshua Kennedy, in the interest of fairness, one must use a "level playing field" and evaluate them for what they are, and not what they are not.
